I was thrilled to get this commission! My dentist has impeccable taste in art and decor. When he suggested that I should make a quilt for his office, I was honored. He gave me this guidance: no teeth, no toothbrushes, nothing cutesy. I was to look around his newly redecorated office (very chic modern/post-industrial/urban) and make something that would fit in. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this piece, which is now framed, alternates between his office and his home.
The quilt is made of black silk noil, quilter's lamé, and black tulle. The embellishments include metallic thread and assorted beads, some of which are Venetian glass.
