Celebration Quilts
Celebration Quilts are designed to celebrate something: an event, a person, or a memory such as a birth, a wedding, an adoption, a graduation, or an accomplishment. Most often, the Celebration Quilts I make celebrate the life of someone who is no longer with us.
Celebration Quilts begin with things -- clothing, linens, invitations, photographs, buttons, aprons, any kind of artifact you can find. These artifacts transport us to another place and time, which is what these quilts are all about.
